Cure Panic Attacks While Driving

Do you get lightheaded, have sweaty palms, feel dizzy and have a rapid heartbeat when you are driving? If so, you are suffering from panic attacks while driving. This is a specific form of anxiety that can happen to anyone driving a car.

Panic attacks while driving can be cured naturally and you don’t have to fall victim to them anymore. There is no one specific cause for panic attacks while driving however, each person is unique as to the causes, symptoms and even treatments for it.

One common thread however is that many people mention over and over again that they have a memory of an accident that happened in the past, either to themselves or a loved one. This memory can cause panic in a driver.

Other causes come from major traumatic events in their lives, these could range from a divorce, a death in the family, a career change, a move, etc… Stress is also a key factor to the causes of panic attacks. An ongoing stress can cause a fluctuation in hormones, including adrenalin and cortisol.

If you experience any of the above symptoms and/or have had any of the above triggers then try any one of these cures below.

Avoid panic attacks by listening to music to relieve the stress as you drive. Don’t think about the act of driving the car, don’t focus on it, instead look out the window, look over the car directly in front of you. Always have a cell phone with you for a feeling of safety and security.

Deal with panic attacks when they happen by pulling over, drinking some water and calmly taking some deep breaths. Listen to soothing music, get out of the car and go for a walk if you can. Keep a brown paper bag nearby and most importantly don’t fight the attack. It will pass, accept it and breathe.

Remind yourself that you are a good and safe driver and that you are fine. Repeat mantras in your head to calm yourself. If you need further help but don’t wish to turn to any anti-anxiety medication, try Panic Away.
