Panic Attacks After Breakup

This post is about panic attacks after breakup, something I’ve recently been through and am still dealing with. If you are reading this than it is likely you are going through something similar.

After losing someone very dear it is common to end up in a very severe depression. You may even wake up every morning after dreams of this person in tears and often in a panic attack unable to breathe. Each day may seem pointless, that you can’t go on without this person, your thoughts are likely on them constantly which only makes the symptoms worse.

If this sounds familiar, you probably want to know if the pain will ever go away and if you should give life another chance. The short answer is yes, you should…but it will take time and acceptance of what happened for you to move on.

No contact with them is essential because anything having to do with them will only leave you in the state of being at their whim, letting them still be in charge of you. You need to take back charge of your own life and start living for you. This won’t be easy, but it is necessary.

Speaking from experience, time may drag on, each day full of memories that you wish you could make a reality again, your heart will probably ache, tears will fall, but you are not alone. You are not the only one who has gone through this or is going through it, you are worthy of love and deserve to be treated better – regardless of your feelings, remember that life is not over yet and you never know what may happen. But for now, you need to live for you.

Panic attacks after a breakup will likely be stronger at different times of the day or with different triggers, either avoid the triggers entirely or let them empower you.

Everyday is a struggle, still even for me, but things do get easier with time, or perhaps you just become numb to it letting new things distract you. Hang on to the good things, let go of the bad and remember that even if it doesn’t seem like it, giving it time will make all the difference.
